light up the darkness
my mom
is amazing (the real amazing..lol). she works so hard and so doesn't get the appreciation she deserves. last night she was cooking dinner for us and grease shot out at her arm and she was doing so many things at once that she didn't even notice it enough to wash it off. it burned her pretty bad. she does stuff like that all the time. she's amazing (the real one)and i love her. :)
post-surgery macie
macie came over today because angie had to work and jeremiah had to go out of town for work early this morning. she seems to be doing a lot better. she is able to eat soft food and isn't in near as much pain as she was before the surgery. she told me all about her experience yesterday. i guess they gave her an iv in her hand. she was asleep when it went in, but awake when they took it out. she was like "and they put this thing in my hand..like a needle. and it left a bruise and it hurts and you can see my bone." haha. her vein was all popped up and i think she thought it was her bone. anyway. she's doing much better. here are some pix from today.
this is where they had the iv...i hate the ones on the top of the hand, they hurt the worst!
these are her front teeth now. the doctor said that one of the top back ones crumbled when he was working on it. he had to dig the pieces out and said that one is still in there but its attached to a permanent tooth and will come out with the new tooth.
this is a shot of her new caps on her back teeth. she was moving so it's kind of blurry. they'll come off when she gets her permanent teeth in.

macie's surgery
macie had to have surgery on her mouth today. it was in carmel and i've been sick and didn't want to risk getting her sick so i stayed at home. angie sent me a pic of her on my cell. poor baby. i feel so bad for her. i guess it was pretty rough. but she is doing better now. she is home and heavily medicated so she's not feeling a lot of pain. please keep her in your prayers that she'll make a quick recovery.
i have the most amazing boyfriend..
i've been sick all week and haven't been able to see him, so he came over after he got off work. he told me he had a present for me. he went to barnes and noble this morning and got me a book. it's by bradley trevor greive. i love his books. this one is called "thank you for being you." i think it's his latest book, because i haven't seen it yet. anyway, mike wrapped it up in a bow and everything. he's so sweet. he told me that he meant every word like it was him talking to me through the book. i just about cried reading the book. it made me feel so much better. i love him so much. hopefully i'll recover soon so i can hang out with him.
the day after
i just have to say that i've never been more ashamed of the people of america..not because they voted for obama, but for everyone who is upset about it and acting childish because he won. yes, it sucks, but there's really nothing that we can do about it....i started writing this and then stopped because i've been really sick today. then after the way that today has gone, i wrote a facebook note so that everyone could hear it. so i'm just going to copy/paste it in here:
i'm not a really political person. but i did follow the race. i don't usually state my opinion about it because i don't feel like getting into debates. however. i am sick of the way that everyone is acting and feel like i must let my opinion be heard.i'm ashamed of the behavior of the people of america after the election. everyone is being ridiculous. i'm not a fan of obama. i voted mccain. alas, as you all know, obama was elected to be the next president. there's not a thing i can do to change that. yes, it's disappointing, but i'm not going to get angry and bash him or his supporters. i choose to support him as president. and he needs all the support he can get right now. the only thing that we're doing by bashing him is causing our nation to be more divided. we're also losing good relationships with our friends and families that share different views than our own. and i'm not just talking about mccain supporters. obama supporters shouldn't be going around throwing it in everyone's face that he won. you can be happy and excited but don't go out and make people angry. with the way the world is today, we should be trying now more than ever to be united as a nation. it's the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA...not the democratic states and the republican states. now that the election is over, we need to stop the debates. what happened, happened. if obama screws up, we can impeach him. and those who voted for mccain can say with pride that it's not their fault. if he doesn't screw up, more power to him. i hope and pray that he doesn't. and if you didn't vote (and you're old enough) then shut up, you didn't have an opinion on election day, you can't now. i was really sick yesterday and still went out and voted. anyway, like it or not people, obama will be leading OUR country. it is still OUR country. by turning against our president, you are turning against our country. i'm scared for america right now. i'm scared because we're so divided and so full of hate. we need to let it go. people should be proud to be american. should be proud to say that they live in this great nation. not to be called a traitor for supporting their own country. that's just flat out wrong. everyone has their own beliefs and that is one of the reasons why america is great. we're allowed to have our own opinions and to express them freely. this is an article of faith that i, being LDS, follow: "we believe in being subject to kings, PRESIDENTS, rulers, and magistrates, in obeying, honoring, and sustaining the law." i think that we need to remember that we're all still americans and we still should obey, honor, and sustain the law. obama is going to be in charge now, so we should support him too. whether we want to or not. and i know that i'm probably going to hear a lot of crap about this note, but i don't care. maybe someone will read it and realize that they're being childish and grow up. i'm sorry if i offended anyone, i'm not saying that you can't have an opinion or speak your mind, i'm just saying that we need to stop debating..the election is over. obama won. he, as our president, needs our nation's support. all of it.
so go ahead and leave comments. i know that there will be some negative ones, but please try to be civil.
God Bless America.

i voted
election '08
i can't wait until it's over. i'm so sick of all of the drama between not only the candidates, but their supporters as well. its causing way too much contention between everyone. it's ridiculous. thank God today's the last day. i've tried to stay out of it and not talk about it and i'm glad that it's finally reaching an end.
